Wesley Keith Thompson Jr., 24, of Fort Thompson, SD, passed away on August 15, 2025, in Sioux Falls, SD. Many knew him comfortingly as "Bubba."

Wesley was born on October 11, 2000, to Wesley Thompson Sr. and Nicole Thunderhorse in Pierre, SD. He attended Crow Creek Tribal Schools throughout his life, excelling as an athlete, particularly in cross country and basketball. After graduating high school in 2019, he attended the Indian University of North America for two summers, where he participated in both the freshman program and upper-level courses. During his time there, he benefited from supportive mentors and formed lifelong friendships with his peers.

Wesley later enrolled at Lower Brule Community College in an effort to further his education, with aspirations in sports medicine. He later chose to entered the workforce, gaining valuable experience in various fields. Wesley was a beloved member of his community, bringing joy and light to everyone he encountered.

In his later days, he enjoyed the company of friends and family who frequently checked in on him. He often stayed at his sister's house, where he developed a close bond with his niece Mae'Va and nephew Tredan.

Wesley, you will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Thank you for the joy and laughter you brought into our lives.

Wesley leaves behind his grandfather, Melvin Thompson Jr; his parents, Wesley Thompson Sr. and Nicole Thunderhorse; his brother, Trevor Thompson; and his sisters, Terra Thompson, Kerra (Cameron) Dolphus, Sarah Thompson, and Casara Thompson. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will cherish his memory and hold him close in their hearts.

Wesley is preceded in the afterlife by his brother, Miami Thompson; his grandmother, Mabel "Dicey" Thompson; his uncle, Troy Thompson Sr; his cousins, Troy Thompson Jr. and Marlena Thunderhorse; his nephews, Corey Thompson and Taytum Agard; family friend, Matt St.John-Seeking Land; and his beloved dogs, Sparky and Tony.
