Obituary

Funeral services for Wallace T. "Wally" Thigh, 66, of Fort Thompson, SD will be 1:00 pm Friday, December 4, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Fort Thompson, SD with burial in the Christ Episcopal Cemetery at Fort Thompson, SD.  Wake services will be Thursday at 7:00 pm a the First Baptist Church in Fort Thompson.

On Junes 21st 1954 Wallace (Wally) Theodore Stinking Thigh was born to Nellie (Thomas-Grassrope) and Samuel Stinking Thigh Sr. on the Lower Brule Indian Reservation, where Wally was raised. He was very outgoing with an energenic soul. Wally was a jack of all trades and worked various jobs, but the most fullfilling job was working at the Lode Star Casino. Where hewas a Security Guard, as he enjoyed meeting and joking with all the customers. He was also committed to the Sundances where he always helped when it was needed. He was a lead sundancer for many years at Joseph Bad Moccasin Sundance.this past year would've been his 18th year, both Wally and Hattie contributed.Wally was also a Wrestling Coach for a couple years for the Crow Creek Chieftains.

He enjoyed being a coach to the kids, loved the sport and the kids also called him grandpa.

In 1980 he met the love of his life Hattie R.Walking Eagle and the two were united in marria e on Feb. 3rd 1984.To this union came three step-children Ly11ette, Melanie and Orville Walking Eagle and three adopted son's Allery (Summer Dawn) Nelson, Dominic (Jasmine) Walking Eagle, Destin'd Loudner and one adopted daughter Suki Comes Flying. He remained with his love Hattie Rose until her death, just four heartbreaking months before he joined her.

He is survived by two of his step-children Lynette Walking Eagle of Fort Thompson SD, Orville Walking Eagle of Colorado, three adopted son's Allery Nelson, Dominic Walking Eagle and Destin'd Loudner and one adopted daughter Suki Comes Flying all of Fort Thompson SD,one sister Edith Stinking Thigh of Pierre SD. Marw nieces and nephews Jason, Marvin, Dorcas Quilt and children: Sam Jr, Russell, Ronnie, Rhonda, Roberta, Raymond Thigh and children.

Proceeded in death Is his wife Hattie Rose,his parents Sam Sr and Nellie, his daughter's Hillary and Jenna, and his step­ daughter Melanie May.
