Wade Richard Hickey, age 35, left us on August 15, 2025. Born on June 21, 1990, to Bradley and Connie (Feltman) Hickey in Mitchell, SD.  Wade's vibrant spirit and hardworking nature touched the lives of all who knew him.

Wade graduated from Chamberlain High School in 2008.  During his school years, Wade developed a love of basketball which he excelled at.  He was instrumental in the team attending the State Basketball Tournament several years in a row.  He earned his degree in agriculture with an emphasis in precision technology from Lake Area Technical College in Watertown, SD in 2011. His passion for agriculture led him to work for Kroupa Farms and South Dakota Wheat Growers, where his dedication and expertise were widely respected.

In 2016, Wade's professional and personal dreams aligned when he joined his partner in life, Abbey Randall, and her family on their farm. Together, they shared Wade's lifelong dream of raising the best herd of black cattle. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his love for Abbey and the life they built together was evident to all who knew them.

Wade's hero was his beloved grandpa, Jerome Feltman, with whom he cherished countless memories of never wanting to leave the farm, eating pancakes, and watching old John Wayne movies—his favorite being Hondo. In tribute, Wade named his blue heeler dog "Hondo," a lasting symbol of his love for his grandfather and the values he instilled in him.

Wade was known for his infectious smile, bright blue eyes, and his ability to make others feel seen and valued. Whether through a kind word or a helping hand, he was always there for those in need. He was a true friend, a loyal partner, and a person who lived his life with purpose and heart.

Wade loved the outdoors, farm and especially hunting and fishing.  He looked forward to his yearly fishing trip with his friends and to finding that "big buck" during hunting season.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Cliff and Shirley Hickey, Jerome Feltman and his younger brother Cole, who Wade thought about every single day.

Wade is survived by his loving partner in life, Abbey Randall; his parents, Brad and Connie Hickey; his siblings Raquel and son Conner Hickey & Leah (Bill) Nachtigal, Wes (Megan) Hickey, & Lane (Cassidy) Hickey; his beloved grandma Phyllis Feltman, several nieces and nephews, a very special cousin Jody Gould and family, and numerous extended family and friends who will miss his quick wit and presence dearly.  He is also survived by Bill and Kathy Randall, who became more than "Abbey's parents" and he felt blessed to have them welcome him as part of their family, along with Abbey's sisters Jodi (Weston) Neiffer and Rachael (Heth) Turnquist and their families.

Wade's spirit will forever live on in the people he touched. He will always be remembered for his smile, his generous heart, and his love for the land and those who mattered most. He was fearless, if you knew him, you'll never forget him.
