Todd was born April 11,1967 to Dennis and Joyce (Geraets) Yeaton in Brookings, SD. Todd was raised in the Chamberlain area along with his sister, Deborah (Yeaton) McWhorter, where he graduated high school in 1985. Todd then moved to Watertown, SD, where he attended Lake Area Vocational School to get his Associate's Degree in Agricultural Production & Business and worked at the Watertown Co-op for another 5 years.
Todd married Cindy (Dekker) in October of 1987. They spent 5 years in Watertown before they moved to Corsica, SD where he worked at Land O'Lakes and the Corsica Co-op Association. To this union, they had 2 sons, Grant & Christopher Yeaton, who tragically passed away as children. The boys loved feeding the cattle, riding in the tractors and spending time on the family farm. One special memory is when they were able to ride the train that came through Chamberlain. There is still a park in Corsica dedicated in remembrance of them.
In 1997, Todd accepted a Location Manager role at Farmers Union Coop Elevator in his hometown of Chamberlain. This is where he met and married DeLonne (Rohde) Yeaton, and welcomed their two children: Bethany and Spencer Yeaton. They moved to Highmore, SD in 2002 where he worked for the Farmers Union Elevator until 2007 and continued to work there after it became known as South Dakota Wheat Growers until 2013.
In 2013, Todd started his work at Gavilon in Kimball, SD. Todd and Keileen were married in December of 2015 where they shared their home in Kimball with Keileen's two daughters, Darby and Libby Absher, his daughter, Bethany and his son, Spencer.
Todd was chairman of the South Dakota State Railroad Board from 2003 – 2017. Governor Dennis Daugaard declared "Todd Yeaton Day" on October 18, 2017 for all of his years of service on the railroad board. He served as Fire Chief in the Kimball Fire Department for 4 years and also served as an EMT and firefighter for 29 years. He loved spending time with his family, farming, haying, and taking care of his animals. He was a proud and devoted father, husband, brother, son and a brand new grandpa.
He is survived by his wife, Keileen Yeaton, daughters Bethany (Logan Gjerset), Darby and Libby (Grant Prokopis), son Spencer (Cheyenne Christensen); granddaughter Hadley Mae Gjerset; father Dennis Yeaton and stepmother Kay; his mother-in-law Kathy Falor; and his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
