Teresa Ann (Jurgensen) Obago

Teresa Ann Obago made her journey on November 19, 2024.  She was 67 years young. She was born August 6, 1957 in Sioux City, IA to Thomas Leroy Jurgensen and Doloris Marie (Eisnmann) Jurgensen.

Teresa attended school in Jefferson Parish, Louisana and later Technical School in Mitchell, SD where she obtained her certification in carpentry.  Despite receiving a carpentry certificate, she spent most of her life working in the food services industry.  In the 1980's she moved to Fort Thompson, SD where she was employed as a cook for the schools.  She enjoyed cooking for all the kids and most of them knew her as "Grandma Teresa".

In her spare time, she would be sewing and making hand made gifts or baking and making goodie baskets for the kids and her family.  She would always bake or cook to help with fundraisers for her children, grandchildren, and others in the community.

She was a kind soul and devoted most of her life to taking care of others.

Teresa is survived by her one and only son Scott (Tiauna) Obago Sr.; daughters Kelcie Obago, Roberta Obago, Rachel Amiotte, and Cassandra Obago; grandchildren Melana, Dayton, Harley, Adam (Mykayla), Scott Jr., Joseph Jr., Violet, Oliver, Tamia, Bryani, Ambria, Dreamiss, Layla, Shawn, Kailahni, Cansas, and Serenity; great grandchildren Malaki and Cleo.  She is also survived by siblings Pat Thames, Thomas Jurgensen, Michelle "Mickey" Jurgensen; nieces and nephews Doris, Aaron, Jody, Melissa, Jasent, Tommy and James.

She joins in Heaven her father Thomas Leroy Jurgensen, her mom Doloris Jurgensen, her brother Jay Jurgensen, and nephew Michael.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
