Steven W. Rosenberger, age 65, passed away at his home in Pukwana on November 3, 2023 surrounded by family.
Steven Wayne Rosenberger was born in Mitchell, SD to Roland E. and Eileen M (Forman) Rosenberger on March 8, 1958. He attended country grade school at Pretzer and Ola School and Chamberlain High School in Chamberlain, SD, graduating in 1976. When Steve was 12 years old, his father passed away and together, he and his mother, Eileen, worked the farm together.
On February 14, 1991, Steve married Renee Dobberstein. This marriage was blessed with two adopted children, Ashley Ann and Nickolas Wayne.
Steve loved farming and working on the land. It wasn't until later that Steve took a job in town as a clerk at West Forty in Oacoma where he worked until his health forced him to retire.
Steve and Renee still lived on the farm, and he enjoyed every day going out and looking over the farm and the animals. He loved spending time with his two granddaughters. They held a special place in Papa's heart.
Gratefully sharing his life are his wife, Renee of Pukwana, SD; his children Ashley (Collton) Beck and their two children, Aniya and Nadia, and Nickolas Rosenberger of Pukwana, SD; a sister Linda (Ron Baumgartner) Eymer of Reliance, SD and a brother, Craig (Kim) Rosenberger Sr. of Pukwana, SD. He is also survived by nine nephews and seven nieces and many friends and neighbors whom he held very dear and liked to visit with anytime he could. Renee always said he could talk to a fence post for an hour.
Preceding him in death were his parents Roland and Eileen Rosenberger; father and mother-in-law, Milo and Mary Ann Dobberstein; and uncle Donald Rosenberger.
