Memorial services for Sophiann J. Schindler, 59, of Reliance, SD will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Reliance, SD.

Sophiann was born July 23, 1965, to Dewayne and Pattyann (Recoy) Kercher in Oacoma, SD. She was raised in Oacoma, SD and attended Chamberlain Public Schools where she graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1983.

Troy Schindler and Sophiann started dating in 1992. In 1996, they welcomed their first daughter and a second daughter in 1999. They then moved to Reliance, SD where they made their home. On July 4, 2009, Sophiann was united in marriage to Troy.

Most of her life she spent helping her husband work on the farm. Whether watching the gates, stacking the bales, riding in the semi, or helping give shots to the baby calves. Her favorite memories were bottle feeding the calves with her family. She loved her daughters and supported them in their variety of activities. She cheered them on in the stands whenever she could. She would always show up in her cowboy boots and turquoise jewelry. She collected her fair share of antiques. Her prize possessions were her collection of Precious Moments and duck figurines. No matter a garage sale or a thrift store, she was always looking for them. Whenever she had free time, you would find her doing cross-stitch too.

Sophiann passed away on December 15, 2024, peacefully at home after a courageous fight with cancer at the age of 59. Gratefully sharing her life are her husband Troy Schindler of Reliance; two daughters LaTrisha Pullman and husband Joshua of Pierre, Larisa Schindler of Vermillion, SD; and son David Schindler of Chamberlain, SD; four brothers Donald Kercher and wife Donna of Cavour, SD, Lee Kercher of Oacoma, Larry (Brittany Buum) Kercher of Oacoma, SD, and Clinton Peterson and wife Christina of Box Elder, SD; one granddaughter; one grandson; many nieces and nephews; and her special pet Luke.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother Joseph Kercher, and grandparents.
