Funeral services for Shirley M. Pickner, 81, of Pukwana, SD will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Hickey Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain with burial in the Pukwana Cemetery at Pukwana.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Hickey Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Pukwana City Cemetery, 35556 250 ^th St, Pukwana SD 57370.

Shirley Mae Parker was born August 29, 1940 in Geddes, SD to Willard and Genevieve (Mashek) Parker.  She attended school in the Geddes area where she graduated high school.

On April 7, 1960, Shirley was united in marriage to Ralph D. Pickner in Chamberlain.  To this union four children were born Marcia, William "Bill", Ronald, and Donald.

Over the years Shirley had several jobs including custodian at the Pukwana school. Around 1970, Ralph and Shirley started Pickner Busing which they operated for many years transporting thousands of school children to and from school.

Shirley passed away on April 23, 2022 at Sanford Medical Center in Chamberlain at the age of 81 years.  Gratefully sharing her life are her children Ronald, Donald, Merlyn (Zimri), and Del Ray Pickner, and Cindy (Dan) Feltman; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Ralph on June 25, 1997, a son William on June 27, 1982, and daughter Marcia on December 9, 2011.
