Shirley Ann (Olson) Kopke, age 89, formerly of Chamberlain, died February 14, 2020 in Calumet Michigan where she had been a patient at Gardenview Assisted Living/Memory Care for over 4 years.

Shirley was born 10/08/1930 in McIntosh, SD to James and Grace (Lugauer) Olson. Shirley attended schools in Morristown and Aberdeen. She graduated from Presentation School of Nursing in Aberdeen in 1951.

She married Chadwick E Kopke January 10, 1953 in Mobridge.  Shirley worked as an RN at Community Bailey Hospital until 1972, when she and Chad purchased the Chamberlain Coast-to-Coast store, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chad, her sons Marc and Scott, brother and sister-in-law James and Fern Olson of Aberdeen, sister and brother-in-law Ellen and Robert Shevlin of Mitchell.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Diane of Michigan, granddaughter Nicole of Texas, grandson David (Becky) of Michigan, and three great-grandchildren Anthony, Michael and Isla.

Shirley has been cremated and her ashes will be interred at Riverview Cemetery in Chamberlain.
