A meal will immediately follow the funeral services at the Ron Wright Memorial Hall.
Sharon Yvette Brown stepped into her heavenly home in the early morning hours of Friday, May 23, 2025, at the age of 80, embraced by peace and the promise of reunion. There, she joined her beloved husband, cherished family, and her Savior, Jesus Christ, following complications from long-standing health conditions.
Sherry was born on March 9, 1945, in Joplin, Missouri, to Bernard Glasford Sr. and Violet (Langdeau) Glasford. Sharon, lovingly known to many as Sherry or Bert, was a lifelong member of the Kul Wicasa Oyate (Lower Brule Sioux Tribe) of Lower Brule, SD.
Her spirit was woven with laughter and a deep love for animals; her sharp wit and unmistakable laugh left joy lingering in every room she entered. Sherry was family, friend, confidante, champion, and loyal supporter to so many everywhere she resided, but mostly for her fellow Tribal members and friends in the Lower Brule community.
The truest treasures of Sherry's life were her husband, Ronald Gene Brown Sr., and the family they built together. She carried immense pride in the lives her children and loved ones forged, and in her final season, their presence gave her strength, comfort, and peace.
She now reunites with those who went before: her parents, Bernard Glasford, Sr., and Violet (Langdeau) Rekow; her beloved husband, Ron; her sisters, Dolores Riley, and Veronica Feeney; her brother, Armond "Butch" Glasford, and her son, Richard Brown; her maternal grandparents, Joseph, and Lottie (DeSheuquette) Langdeau, and paternal grandparents George and Mable (Mame) Brown.
Carrying her memory forward are her children: Ron (Jodi) Brown of Wessington, SD, Randall (Susan) Brown of Spearfish, SD, Ryan "Julie" (Kim) Brown of Sioux Falls, SD, Rance (Reyna) Brown of [Arizona]. She is also survived by her siblings: Renee Dietrich of Hilltop, TX, Cheryll (Fritz) LaRoche of Lower Brule, SD, Desine (Raymond) Norris of Pasadena, TX, Eyvonne Rekow of Lower Brule, SD, Bettina (Dave) Bergren of Sacramento, CA, Bernard "Smiley" (Diana) Glasford, Jr. of Canyon Lake, TX, Leon "Skip" (Clair) Glasford of Tucson, AZ, Vernon "Shorty" (Penny) Rekow, Jr. of [North Carolina], and Keith "Squeaky" (Rikki) Rekow of Casper, WY as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and generations of grandchildren.
Sharon, and her beloved husband Ron Brown, Sr.'s cremains will be laid to rest at the LaRoche Ranch Family Plot at a later date.
Her journey continues in the hearts of all who loved her. May her laughter echo in memory, and her love remain ever nearby.
