Sally Reimer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 15, 2026.
Sally was born on March 29, 1944 to Richard and Katherine Holcom (Chambers) in Joplin, Missouri. Sally was raised in Miami, Oklahoma until her family moved to Chamberlain, SD in 1959. Sally graduated from South Dakota State University with an associate's degree in 1964. In June of 1964 she married Ronnie Reimer. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. They made their home on a farm south of Chamberlain, South Dakota.
Sally spent countless hours on the farm driving silage truck and sorting 10,000’s of head cattle over the years. She was an incredibly hard worker; in addition to working on the farm she also supported the community volunteering at Zion Lutheran Church and the United Church of Christ as well working as a County Commissioner for Brule County.
Sally loved her family and traveling to her children’s countless cattle shows, concerts, and sporting events; and later her grandchildren’s many sporting and other events spread across SD, CO, and NE.
Sally will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She had a gift for making others feel welcome and cared for, and her presence brought warmth and comfort to everyone who knew her.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, along with her children Michael Reimer (Rebecca), Kelly Bloch (Leland), Racquel Hunsley (Eric); grandchildren Wylie Reimer (Jacob), Brett Reimer (fiancée Elizabeth Sadek), Jacob Bloch (Paige), Izaak Hunsley, and Cooper Hunsley.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents Rich and Katie and her brother David Holcom and other loved ones who welcomed her into eternal rest.
Though her passing leaves a profound void, her family finds comfort in the many wonderful memories they shared and in the lasting impact she had on the lives of others.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at the United Church of Christ in Chamberlain, SD with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church on Wednesday.
The family invites those who knew and loved her to remember her through acts of kindness and by sharing stories of the joy she brought to their lives.
“Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and forever dear.”
May Sally Reimer's memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
