Funeral services for Sadie M. Flute, 69, of Lower Brule, SD will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD with burial in the Langdeau Family Plot in Lower Brule, SD. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m., Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD.
Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave at 12:00 p.m. (NOON) on Saturday from the funeral home.
Sadie Marie Flute was born April 6, 1955 in Lower Brule, SD to Irene S. Goodface and Daniel A. Flute.
Sadie attended Pierre Indian Learning Center through the eighth grade then Lower Brule High School until her Junior year. She got her G.E.D. not long after. While attending Lower Brule High School, she met the love of her life, Philip Langdeau. To this union, came six children Aaron (Rashelle) Flute, Sylvia (Damion) Grassrope, Amiel Flute, Joy Langdeau, Arielle Langdeau, Darian Langdeau, and an adopted daughter Lucy Flute all from Lower Brule.
She entered the work field with Lower Brule Sioux Tribe Finance Office for several years then went to Lower Brule Housing Authority Finance for 38 years until her untimely death. She loved being around family especially her grandkids!
Sadie passed away on April 16, 2024 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. She is survived by seven kids, 27 grandkids, 16 great grandkids, siblings Levi (Patricia) Flute, Delaine Flute, Emily (Dewayne) Goodface, Gladys LaRoche, Les (Carol) Flute, and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her life long partner of 48 years Philip Langdeau, her mother and father Irene and Daniel Flute, twin sisters Janice and Patricia Flute, sister Mary Flute, brother Gene Wilson, niece Dorri Estes, nephew Ellsworth "Sonny Boy" Langdeau, and granddaughters Janise and Malaina Flute.
