Funeral services for Ryan S. Obago, 48, of Fort Thompson, SD will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Thompson with burial in the Lakeview Cemetery at Fort Thompson, SD. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m. Sunday and Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Thompson, SD.
Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave from funeral home on Sunday at 12:00 (NOON) p.m.
Ryan Obago was born on April 25, 1975 to Viola Obago and Steve Harrison in Chamberlain, SD.
Ryan Obago made his journey home to the spirit world on May 20, 2023 in Sioux Falls, SD at Sanford USD Medical Center.
Ryan attended school at Fort Thompson Elementary and Crow Creek High School. later obtaining his GED from Colorado. Ryan was united in marriage March 3, 2004 in Ft. Thompson, SD to Candida St. Pierre Obago and to this union five children were born; Jaylon, M'Rya, Shyla, Shyanne, & Justus. They made their home in Aberdeen where Ryan worked concrete and roofing jobs providing for and supporting his family. They later returned to Fort Thompson where he resided up until his passing.
Ryan had a beautiful smile, a great sense of humor, and a very generous and compassionate heart. He was a DUKE BLUEDEVILS fan and a DALLAS COWBOYS fan. He was a great Dad to his children and loved them with all his heart. Family was important to him and it showed in how he raised his children.
Ryan is survived by his wife Candida, his children; Jaylon, M'Rya, Shyanne & Justus. Along with his many relatives and family too numerous to name.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Daughter Shyla Obago, Sister Spring Rose Obago, Brother Russell Lee Obago and beloved niece Arianna Faye Obago.
Ryan aka "Stick" you will be missed, loved and cherished in this life. We will forever hold our memories of you within our hearts. Until we are all together again, may your journey home be a good one.
