Obituary

Funeral services for Ronald R. Fleury, 68, of Fort Thompson, SD will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Crow Creek Community Building in Crow Creek, SD with burial in the Presbyterian Cemetery at Crow Creek, SD.  Wake services will be 7:00 p.m., Friday at the Crow Creek Community Building in Crow Creek, SD.

Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave at 5:00 p.m. on Friday from the funeral home.

Ronald Robert "Tweet" Fleury 69, made his journey to the Spirit World on February 4, 2024 at the Ava's Hospice House in Sioux Falls SD surrounded by family.

Tweet was born August 19, 1955 in Chamberlain SD to Harvey Robert Fleury and Racheal Red Hail.

He told us the story of how he got the nickname "Tweet" from his sister Kathy because he always had a piece of hair sticking up, so she started calling him Tweety!

Tweet attended Immaculate Conception Mission School at Stephan SD. His Junior year is when he met the love of his life Vivian "Inky" Weddle. From this relationship 4 daughter were born. He graduated from Stephen in 1974.

In 1985, he discovered his passion in Heavy Equipment, him and his cousin Kurt Fleury began learning to operate heavy equipment from his dad Robert Fleury and various other people.  Later on, he went to Witcha Falls, TX with his cousin Kurt Fleury where he continued his passion. In 2002 he met Linda Hawk and he moved to Peru, Illinois. He worked at Eakas Corporation from 2002-2009.

In 2010 he moved back home to Crow Creek. He spent some time together with Kay Taylor.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and fast cars!  He had a passion for the outdoors and having a beer or two!

Ronald Robert Fleury is survived by two brothers Nichols (Lori) Fleury of Sioux Falls SD, John Fleury of Lower Brule; two daughters Tanya Fleury and Baunita (Zack) Fernandez; one son Kevin Pickner; Ronna Marie Fleury (deceased) Cynthia Rae Fleury (deceased) grandchildren Catessa Fleury, Simone Rabago, Nikkia Rabago, Aailyah Rabago, Mia Rabago. Alecia Rabago, Acacia Skunk, Hannah Skunk, Isaiah Bad Horse, and his great grandchildren Ryder Rabago, Brilee Sazue, Reign Skunk, Bryson Sazue, Harvey Walker (deceased), Asher Reiker (deceased). He also has a very special cousin who he called "sister" Connie (Chuck) Strom of Sioux Falls SD.

Preceding in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, numerous Aunts and Uncles.
