Roger N. Wenzel was born February 3, 1944 at Wessington Springs, SD to Harold and Marie (Stulken) Wenzel. He attended Happy Hills Country School at Wessington Springs, SD and graduated from Wessington Springs High School.
He worked with his father on the farm for a short time before starting a gravel and trucking company. Later Wenzel Construction was formed and he expanded into building rubber tire tanks. He sold the trucking and gravel business and continued with the tanks until 2018, all the while, based out of the Mitchell area.
Hunting and fishing with friends was a passion of Roger's and he always had a place in the Chamberlain/Oacoma area for many years. He loved fishing and hunting with very close friends Bruce Hoyer and Joe Nagel along with many others.
Around 2000, Roger purchased a home north of Chamberlain. He loved the view of the Missouri River and having a good time. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards with friends. Roger enjoyed the challenges of running his businesses and playing hard.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his sister Arliss Bennett, and brother-in-law Jerry Bennett.
