Obituary

Funeral services for Roberta J. Harrison, 88, will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 31, 2022 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Thompson with burial in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery at Stephan, SD.  Wake services will be 7:00 p.m., Sunday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Thompson, SD.

Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave from funeral home on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Roberta Joan Harrison was born on January 11, 1934 to Jesse McBride and Rose Wounded Knee.  She passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on January 23, 2022.

Roberta met Paul Harrison Sr. and was united in marriage on August 22, 1959 in Luverne, MN.

To this marriage were twelve children: Steve, Ron, Barbara, Corby, Arnold, Paula, Kurt, Brenda, Stacey, Rex, June, and Norma.  They raised and adopted Jesse and Chris Harrison.

Robert worked at CCHS for many years, Red Horse Lodge, Golden Age Center was her previous job as she delivered elderly meals for 22 wonderful years.

Roberta enjoyed watching Ellen DeGeneres she loved the way "Twitch" danced, she was also a Bingo & Casino queen.  Her favorite NFL Team was the Minnesota Vikings.

She loved her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids very much.  They all took care of her. She was well known and respected, always receiving phone calls all hours of the day because was a vibe that everyone talked to.  She will be missed dearly.

Roberta is survived by her oldest son Arnold Harrison, Minnetonka, MN, daughters Norma Evans, Denver, CO, Brenda Blair, Ogden, UT, Stacey Harrison-Ortega, Fresno, CA, June Harrison, Fort Thompson, SD, daughter-in-law Lynn Harrison, Crow Creek, SD, sons Rex Harrison, Bullhead, SD, Jesse (Shauna) Harrison, Fort Thompson, SD, Chris (Eileen) Harrison, Sioux Falls, SD, Ed Harrison, Mission, SD; grandkids Bridget Harrison, great grandkids Tayshaun Staples, Myles Cruz Navarro, Manny Harrison, Vincent Thompson Jr., were by her side.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Paul Harrison Sr.; her parents Jesse McBride and Rose Wounded Knee; her sons: Corby Shoots The Enemy, Ron Harrison, Steve Harrison, daughters Barbara Harrison, Paula Harrison; granddaughter Saraia Harrison; grandsons Antaion Ortega, Arnold Harrison Jr.; sisters Lucille Gravatt, Josephine Slow, Gladys McBride; and brothers Bert McBride and Ambrose McBride
