Celebration Of Life will be held at the Pukwana Community Center in Pukwana, SD on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024, at 4:00 pm.

Robert K Hawley, 73, Pukwana, SD passed away on July 19th, 2024, at Chamberlain Care Center due to liver cancer.

Bob was born August 21, 1950, in Sioux Falls, SD to Kenneth and Betty (Bendt) Hawley. Bob enjoyed his summers during his youth at his grandparents' farm.

Bob started working right out of high school at John Morrell and Co in 1968 where he stayed until his retirement in 2009. Bob started in the beef department and ended his career as Quality Assurance Manager in pork.

Bob also joined the Army National Guards from 1970-1976.

Bob and his wife, June, made the move to Pukwana, SD in 2009 due to his love of fishing, hunting, and the river. He had spent a lot of his younger years walking corn fields and beaches searching for artifacts and shared this love with all his children. He also enjoyed Jon Crane prints and due to this has acquired an impressive collection over the years.

Bob was always seen with his sidekick Archie 'patrolling' Pukwana. You could always find Bob on his deck (weather permitting) with a friendly wave and a chair for whomever wanted to stop and visit. Bob always had a warm smile and a chuckle for everyone he'd meet.

Survivors include his wife, June of 24 years, children: Becky Hawley, Eastsound, WA, Jon Hawley, Sioux Falls, SD, Rachel (Kevin) Berger, Bismarck, ND, David Hawley, Denver, Co, and Nicole Walker, Pukwana, SD. Grandchildren, Quinn, Cora Lee, Kinleigh, Kaizleigh, Declan, Avery. Siblings: Randy (Maria) Hawley, Vickie Criger, Nancy Hawley and beloved nephews and nieces.
