Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 11:00 am at Graceland Cemetery at Oacoma, SD.
Robert "Wayne" Harmon Of Oacoma, South Dakota passed away on Monday, May, 25 2020 at his home of natural causes.
Wayne was born September 2, 1946, the youngest of 11 children, to Ruth (Ransford) and Charles Franklin Harmon in Chamberlain, SD.
He served in the Navy from September 11, 1963 to September 1, 1967 aboard the USS Buchnell in Key West Florida. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal after an honorable discharge. After returning home he met Betty Jean Graves and they were united in marriage on September 12, 1969. To this union two sons were born, Richard James (stillborn) and Brian Wayne.
Wayne worked as a machinist for most of his life. After living in the Black Hills he retired to his home town of Oacoma, South Dakota.
Grateful for sharing in his life are his son Brian and his wife Cassandra of Douglas, WY and granddaughter Brooke Harmon of Colorado and many nieces and nephews.
Wayne is survived by sisters Irene and June of Oacoma, SD; brothers Kenneth (Marilyn) of Lower Brule, SD, Donald (Liz) of Spearfish SD, and James of Oacoma, SD.
Preceding him in death are his infant son Richard James, parents Ruth and Frank Harmon, brothers Gene, Glen, Ralph, and Charles Harmon and sister, Alice Hutmacher.
