Funeral services for Robert D. "Droop" Drapeau, 68, of Fort Thompson, SD will be 10:00 am Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Lana & Droop's residence in Fort Thompson with burial in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery at Stephan, SD.  Wake services will be Friday at 7:00 pm at Lana & Droop's residence in Fort Thompson.

Robert Dean "Droop" Drapeau was born April 8, 1952 to Alphonso Drapeau, Sr. and Elizabeth (Libby) Rockwood in Chamberlain, SD.  He grew up in Fort Thompson and attended school in Stephan, SD.

On July 28, 1989, he met and married Lana Rencountre.  To this union two children were born Justin Dean and Dena Lynn.

Droop was a very kind, caring, gentle person.  He had a very unique sense of humor.

Droop enjoyed cooking for his family, having cookouts, fishing, and riding around listening to music.

Droop passed away on July 6, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center in Chamberlain at the age of 68 years.   Gratefully sharing his life are his wife Lana; daughter Dena; step daughter Bobbi Lee Spider and Marissa Spider; step son Chris Spider; sons Dean Bad Moccasin of Minneapolis, MN and Robert Zephier of Wagner; special grandsons Anthony Thompson and J'Dean Drapeau; a special granddaughter from Enemy Swim Jescinda Dean Hopkins, Katie-Lynn Azure of Fort Thompson; many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren; four sisters Charlotte Rockwood, Mildred Ross, Eunice (Lori) Drapeau, and Shirley Drapeau all of Fort Thompson; three brothers Ronald (Kim) Drapeau, Frank Drapeau, and Woody Drapeau all of Fort Thompson; and special brother Emery Flute.

Preceding him in death were his parents Alphonso Drapeau Sr. and Elizabeth Rockwood; sons Justin, Dwight and Bryce Drapeau; and a daughter Lolita Drapeau.
