Obituary

Funeral services for Robert C. "Bob" Struble will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 27, 2022 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chamberlain with burial in the Pukwana Cemetery at Pukwana, SD. Visitation will be Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chamberlain, SD.

Robert C. "Bob" Struble, 93, of Chamberlain, SD, passed away on October 24, 2022 at Sanford Care Center in Chamberlain, SD.

Robert C. Struble was born February 22, 1929 in Phillip, SD to Clair and Margaret (Vogelgesang) Struble.  He attended school in Rapid City, SD.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952 and was onboard the USS Gurke, one of the "Sitting Ducks" during the Inchon Invasion in the Korean War. After his discharge, he returned to Rapid City where Bob met Darlene Reimer and the two were united in marriage on February 7, 1954.

In 1954, they made their home on a farm south of Red Lake in Brule County where they resided until moving to Chamberlain in 2020.

Bob enjoyed square dancing, ballroom dancing, and bowling.  He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Chamberlain and a lifetime member of the Newman Millage Legion Post in Pukwana and the VFW in Chamberlain.

Gratefully sharing his life are his wife of 68 years Darlene Struble, his daughters Susan (Ken) Kimball, Sharon Struble, and Karla Struble, his granddaughter Kendra Kimball, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, a sister, and their spouses.
