Rikki Rae Voice was born August 25, 1987 to Lori (Kevin) High Elk and Erick "Rick" Voice Sr. "Hinze Agli Win" is her Lakota name, inherited from her grandmother, Lucille High Elk, after her passing.
Rikki attended Crow Creek Tribal Schools from elementary through tenth grade. She then attended Sherman High School in Riverdale, CA, where she graduated on June 3, 2005.
Rikki enlisted in the United States Air Force on January 17, 2006. She was stationed in Biloxi, MS, Green Bay, WI, and overseas in Iraq and Greenland.
She was pursuing her final semester in school, on her way to making her dream come true of becoming the first Native American female Physicist.
During her time in the Air Force, she married Cody Campbell, who was also in the Air Force. Out of their marriage came a son, Carter Campbell.
Rikki was Honorably Discharged from the United States Air Force on August 26, 2010, after which she moved back to South Dakota.
Rikki was very knowledgeable in Informational Technology, as that was her work while in the military. She worked at various hotels and area hospitals in Rapid City which she called her home (Monument Health, Veterans Hospital), and at the EPA program in Fort Thompson.
She loved being home in Bad Nation, around the horses, nature, and family.
She loved her fur babies, Laika and Astro, with all that she was. They were her service dogs, as after her time served in the military she developed PTSD, as most veterans do. Her dogs were trained to help her, and they brought her much happiness. The three of them did everything together.
Rikki loved to go on long drives and sing to the top of her lungs while going down the road, sometimes making up her own lyrics. She was a light, and no matter what she endured it could never stop her from putting a smile on the faces of those that had the opportunity to know her. She was an adventurous soul and loved to be within nature.
Rikki passed away May 1, 2024 at her home in Box Elder, SD.
Rikki leaves behind one son Carter Campbell of Kaleen, TX; mom, Lori High Elk of Dupree, SD; father Erick "Rick" Voice Sr. of Fort Thompson, SD; brothers Raymond Voice of Rapid City, SD, Erick Voice Jr. of Pierre, SD, William Voice of Eagle Butte, SD, Trenton Langdeau of Lower Brule, SD, Kellan St. John of Fort Thompson, SD; her very special Lala "Grandpa" Floyd High Elk of Eagle Butte, SD; special grandmas Pauline Zephier and Alsephine Joseph both of Fort Thompson, SD; and many other relatives and friends.
