Funeral services for Raymond Gonzales, 58, of Fort Thompson will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fort Thompson with burial at Christ Episcopal Cemetery at Fort Thompson. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fort Thompson, SD.

Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave the Funeral Home at 3:00 Thursday.

Raymond Gonzales Jr. was born November 16, 1967 in Chicago, IL to Raymond Gonzales Sr. and Margaret Big Eagle. He attended school at Big Bend, Stephan, Chamberlain, and St. Joseph’s Indian School.

His favorite hobbies were working on cars, demo-derbies, fishing, keno and bingo, hunting, and managing the home and yard. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

On April 8, 1989, Raymond was united in marriage to Charlotte Marshall. To this union, five children were born, Terrance, Donika, Ray, Monicia, and Steven.

Raymond passed away on July 19, 2026 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Gratefully sharing his life are his wife Charlotte Gonzales; children June Marshall, Terrance Gonzales, Donika Gonzales, Monicia Gonzales, and Steven (Sunshine) Gonzales; brothers Tony (Nupa) Gonzales, Rudy (Renee) Gonzales, Eddie Gonzales, and Joey Gonzales; sisters Tina Gonzales, Mona Gonzales, Raynelle (Mike) Harmon; and many other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents Raymond Gonzales Sr. and Margaret (Big Eagle) Gonzales, grandparents Arlene and Lyman, son Raymond Gonzales III, brother Richard “Rico” Gonzales, sister Alicia “Ally” Gonzales, brother-in-law Steven Miller and Timmy Marshall, baby Jeremy Mestes, and baby Khalil Pickner and several uncles and aunts.
