Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., June 15, 2026 at the Zion Luthern Church in Chamberlain with burial in the Bohemian National Cemetery at rural Pukwana, SD. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. at the church on Monday.

Obituary

Ralph Reimer 

January 15, 1925 – June 11, 2026

Ralph enjoyed a full and active life. He loved farming, flying his airplane, auto racing, traveling and tinkering with his latest farm equipment invention.

Ralph was born on January 15, 1925, on the farm in Red Lake Township, South Dakota. The Reimer family later moved to Vivian, Sd before returning to Red Lake Township in Brule County, where Ralph resided for the remainder of his life.

He graduated from Pukwana High School in 1942 and later married Mae Tarabetz. Together they had one son, Ronnie, born in 1944. During his early years, Ralph balanced farming with a passion for flying his airplane and auto racing, reflecting his adventurous spirit and love of innovation; he also proudly served in the South Dakota Air National Guard. In later years he and Mae enjoyed traveling the world visiting Europe, South and Central America, as well as exploring the Caribbean.

Ralph was known by his grandchildren and great grandchildren for his love of driving fast, Combining, modifying farm equipment and keeping up with the latest technology.

After Mae’s passing in 1990, Ralph married Lois Morken and they spent 20 years together before her death.

Ralph was preceded in death by his wives, Mae and Lois; his parents, Peter and Dora (Thode) Reimer; his siblings Kate Mvericka, Anna Guthrie, Frieda Ellis, Henry and William.

He is survived by his son, Ronnie (Sally); and his grandchildren, Mike (Rebecca), Kelly Bloch (Lee), and Racquel Hunsley (Eric) and his Great Grandchildren Wylie Reimer (Jacob), Brett Reimer, Jacob Bloch (Paige), Izaak Hunsley, Cooper Hunsley and his sister Darlene Struble.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 15, 2026 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chamberlain with burial in the Bohemian National Cemetery at rural Pukwana, SD. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. at the church on Monday.
