Funeral services for Phyllis J. Crazy Bull, 79, of Lower Brule, SD will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2021 Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule with burial in the Holy Comforter Episcopal Cemetery at Lower Brule, SD.   Wake services will be 7:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD.

Phyllis went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2021 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 79 years.

Phyllis Jean (Langdeau) Crazy Bull Sunrise was born April 30, 1942 at Lower Brule, SD. She attended Flandreau Indian School where she graduated with one of her best friends, Marie Charger.  She then attended Stuarts Cosmetology College where she graduated. She met the love of her life Alva Gilbert Crazy Bull Jr. and they settled in Lower Brule in 1961.  They were united in marriage and had a daughter Elvah Jean Crazy Bull on September 7, 1962.

Phyllis had a very loving family.  She was always so friendly, smiling at everyone who had to just hug her.  She loved to cook, share the food she made, and always had a pot of coffee on.  She loved to go to the casino to eat and share her drummies with whoever greeted her and gamble.  She has some very precious grandkids, Marty, Latrell, Raeleia, King, Mira, Charlie, Ty, and Trudy and all of the grands she raised.  She always had a special place in her heart for her nieces and all of the others.

Gratefully sharing her life are her daughter Elvah Crazy Bull, six grandchildren: Lawrence LaRoche, Elmer LaRoche, Lauren LaRoche, Skyla LaRoche, Marty LaRoche, Santanna LaRoche; 17 great grandchildren; sisters Marilyn Harmon and Gail Ziegler, special nieces Marlys Langdeau-Medicine Bird, Sandra Abdo, Mary Jane Gourneau, and Trina Kersting along many other relatives too numerous to mention.

Preceding her in death were her parents Aldena Tomkins Langdeau and Harvey Lee Langdeau; her sisters Velda Quilt, Alice Faye Langdeau and Juanita Langdeau-Isburg; brothers Marlow Langdeau, Ellsworth "Buddy" Langdeau, and Harvey "Snooky" Langdeau Jr.; and special granddaughter Trudy Rae Hawkwing.
