Patrick Lee Big Eagle, Jr. an enrolled member of the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe was born in Los Angeles, CA on November 3, 1975, to Patrick Big Eagle, Sr. and Constance Crow. Shortly after his birth, his paternal grandmother Leona Big Eagle flew from South Dakota to Los Angeles to bring him home to South Dakota.  He was primarily raised by his paternal grandparents John and Leona Big Eagle in Pierre, SD until their passing. Also sharing in his upbringing during his life were his beloved father Patrick Big Eagle (Annette) and their family, his uncle Duane, Sr (Diane) Big Eagle and family, his uncle Dean (Diana) and their family and his Aunt Marilyn and her family.  He lived with each family for a duration of his life before being moved to adult services in Aberdeen, SD where he remained until his death.

Pat "Baby Pat" as he was lovingly known to his relatives loved to give hugs, clap his hands, walk around spinning socks, and smiling.  He also had a mischievous side.  He loved to wait until someone went into the bathroom and he would turn the bathroom light off as he ran away laughing out loud.

Baby Pat grew up in his grandparent's home with his adopted sister Jackie whom he loved dearly.  Although he enjoyed spending time with all of his aunts, uncles and his many cousins, Jackie was always his favorite.

Baby Pat was proceeded in death by his father Patrick Vaughn Big Eagle, Sr., his brother Jason Long, aunt Lisa Crow, uncle Justin Crow, uncle Duane Big Eagle, Sr., aunt Diane Big Eagle, aunt Colleen Big Eagle, uncle John "Terry" Big Eagle, aunt Marcella Big Eagle, maternal grandmother Bernice Crow, and his paternal grandparents John and Leona Big Eagle.

He is survived by his brothers Vaughn Big Eagle, James "Jimmy" Big Eagle, Dustin Montoya, Fran Heminger, and his sisters Jane "Janie" Big Eagle, Nancy Big Eagle, and Fawn Withhorn.

Graveside services will be Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Crow Creek, SD.  Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon at the Hickey Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain.  The family will be leaving Hickey Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain, SD at 1:00 pm to escort Baby Pat to Crow Creek.  Please join us for the procession.
