Funeral services for Olivia E. Kirkie, 20, will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the Akicita Mato Gymnasium in Fort Thompson, SD with burial in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery at Stephan, SD. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday at the Akicita Mato Gymnasium in Fort Thompson, SD.

Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.

Olivia Kirkie was born in Mitchell, SD, to Monte Kirkie and Leslie Thompson. Her tiospaye' played an instrumental role in her life, surrounding her with love and support as she grew up. Olivia shared a particularly special bond with her aunt, Jody Kirkie, who was blessed with the cherished title of "Mom" a reflection of the deep love and connection they shared. What a tribute to be bestowed a chosen role of mom-a testament of their love.

Olivia attended Crow Creek Tribal Schools, graduating with the Class of 2024. During her school years, she was actively involved in cheerleading volleyball and track, embracing each opportunity with enthusiasm and determination. Her adventurous spirit also led her to explore indigenous modeling, an experience that was truly fitting for someone as naturally beautiful as Olivia. Modeling was an adventure indeed, as out lovely Olivia was know for being our all-natural gal, rarely seen in a full face of make-up often associated with the modeling world. How grateful we are to have the beautiful photos from this time, capturing not only her beauty but also her grace and vibrant spirit.

Olivia treasured the time she spent with her sister, Nieces, affectionately know as "The Kirkie Girls." One can only imagine the countless stories they shared, the laughter that so often left them covering their mouths in an attempt to contain themselves, and the endless selfies, videos, and snapchats that documented their adventure together. What once seemed like ordinary moments have now become cherished memories, forever preserving the bond they shared, and the joy Olivia brought to those around her.

Olivia was a certified Nursing Assistance at Avera Mary House in Pierre, South Dakota, Where she cared for others with the same compassion and kindness that defined her life. She was diligently pursuing her dream of earning a nursing degree and becoming a traveling nurse, combining her passion for helping other with her love of exploring new places.

Olivia loved to travel and attend concerts, embracing every opportunity to create memories and experience life to its fullest. Liv's vlog gave her a creative outlet to share stories and photo shoots of family, friends, and her loved baby Buster.

Among the many treasured family traditions were the legendary water balloon battles. Thes epic events were filled with laughter, playful competition and a few stray water balloons that got our heads knocked off.

Special time with her dad were spend bonding over their shared love for horses, moments that will forever be held close. Her deep passion for organization was evident in her color-coded closet and meticulously arranged spices. She thrived in the kitchen, baking treats for loved ones, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She found joy in caring for others.

The sunset far too soon for our beautiful Olivia. Her infectious smile, zest for life, and genuine love for those around her made everyday brighter. Though her earthly journey was brief, the impact of her life remains everlasting. She will be deeply missed and forever carried in the hearts and treasured memories of all who were blessed to know her. Capturing the magnitude of her remarkable life within the confines of an obituary offer only a glimpse of the extraordinary person she was. May she rest in peace, knowing she was truly loved.

Survived by Parent-Monte Kirkie, Leslie Thompson. Siblings -Delonn Ross, DeShawn Ross, Patricia Wells, Lynda KK Kirkie and Elsie Charging Hawk. Aunts-Jody Kirkie, Thomasena Thompson. Uncles-Craig Kirkie, Willard Kirkie, Lester Thompson, Jr. Grandparents-Dale Thompson, Richard & Doris Kirkie, Melby Kirkie and way to many relatives to name.

Welcoming Olivia to her eternal resting place are her Paternal Great Grandparents-Leon & Laura (Harrison) Kirkie, Maternal: Cedrice & Zona (Briggs) Grey Cloud, Maternal Great Grandparents-Kenneth Sr., & Mildred (Jones) World Turner, Leroy Sr., & Annie Thompson. Paternal Grandparents-Leon Jr. & Judy (Grey Cloud) Kirkie. Maternal Grandmother- Jan World Turner. Uncles-Oliver Thompson, Ronald World Turner, Leon Kirkie, IV., Myron Kirkie, Kevin Kirkie, Aunt Kendra Kirkie. Cousins-Tauni Kirkie, Tory Kirkie.
