Myron Lyndon Johnson was born on May 31, 1961 to Alvina Johnson Slow and Kermit Comes Flying in Chamberlain, SD. He was raised by his maternal grandparents Isabelle (Medicine Crow) Johnson and Silas (Chubby) Johnson, Sr. in Fort Thompson, SD, East Side. He was also very close to his paternal grandparents; Floyd Comes Flying & Melda Along the Back/Red Water/Comes Flying.
Myron attended grade school at Fort Thompson Elementary and then attend high school at Crow Creek Reservation high school until he received his GED w high scores in November 1979.
Myron made his life at home on the Crow Creek Reservation. He was a proud full blood member of the CCST anyone who knew him knew this to be true. Never afraid of hard work, he worked various jobs through out his life. He worked for the CCST Waterplant for many years working along his good buddies Don Big Eagle & Jesse Harrison & Lana Drapeau. He also worked for the CCST TERO Dept over the years as a laborer. He worked and built many bridges with Industrial Builders, Inc out of Fargo, ND & Heavy Constructors, Rapid City, SD through out the state of SD and out of state as well. He worked along his good friend the late Sonny Isburg installing the new water lines for the new water tower here in Fort Thompson back in 2014-2015.
Myron most proudest role was being a Dad/Father to his sons; Paul, Robert, Les & Calvin. His life changed once he became a Dad. His heart and soul went into raising his sons to be the good young men that they are today. He only ever wanted the best for each of them. He also loved being a Grandpa to all his grandchildren. Myron was a family man. He cared about his family very much. When one of them was hurt or needed help he was there every time. He took pride in taking care of the family plot at the cemetery getting it ready for Easter. He continued this tradition until the younger generation of his family took over caring for the graves.
Within the last 8 years of his life, Myron became a horse rider in the Dakota 38+2 Mankato memorial ride, Santee Ride and White Stone Hill Ride. All memorial rides honoring our ancestors so that the world will never forget who we are and where we came from as Dakota people. He was a proud rider and met many friends and hun'ka relatives on these rides. He was proud to call them all family and ride with them every year. These rides symbolized his Dakota Spirit and he learned many things through out his travels on these rides.
Myron was one of the most loyal true friends a person could ask for. When he acknowledged you as a friend/Koda, it was for life and forever.
On Valentine's Day of this year, 2026, we honored Myron with what would be his last horse ride and gave him his Dakota name, Sunka Wakan Tokahe, First Horse. He was so moved and touched by the love he felt and received this day. We honored him while he was still alive, the way it was done long ago.
Myron was diagnosed with liver cancer back in April 2023. He chose not to do anything to fight against it until December 3, 2025. He began Immunotherapy treatments that were supposed to slow the spread of the cancer but it seemed to take him quicker than actually help him. Last Sunday, March 1, 2026 he entered into hospice care at Sanford Hospital where we, his family and best friends sat with him until he took his last breath, Sunday, March 8, 2026 @ 9am.
Myron suffers no more of this earthly journey. He earned his place at Star Nation and for this we are so very thankful. He will live on through all of us that he loved and cherished.
Myron is survived by his Sister Cheryl Shields and family, his sons; Paul Elery, Robert Lyndon, Les Loren & Calvin Gage, special friend Christine Obago, best friend and Brothers, Alvin Slow and Albert Buc Fallis and family, Sister/Cousin Bernadette Farmer and family, Niece Summer Dawn Drapeau and family, the Comes Flying Tiwahe, Drapeau Tiwahe, Johnson Tiwahe, and his Horse Family. He is also survived by his dog Scrappy and his horse White Stone.

Fly high "Nigman" and journey well. Until we meet again watch over all of us and thank you always for your love, loyalty and thank God for your Beautiful life.
