Funeral services for Montanna R. Walking Bull-Johnson, 32, of Fort Thompson will be 2:00 pm Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Crow Creek Tribal Gym in Fort Thompson with burial in the Christ Episcopal Cemetery at Fort Thompson. Wake services will be Saturday and Sunday evening at 8:00 pm at the Crow Creek Tribal Gym at Fort Thompson.
Montanna R. Walking Bull-Johnson passed away on March 6, 2018 at Sanford Medical Center in Chamberlain at the age of 32 years.
Montanna Roselyn Walking Bull-Johnson was born August 27, 1985 in Wessington Springs, SD to Elroy Walking Bull and Rose Drapeau. She grew up in Fort Thompson and attended school at Crow Creek where she played on the basketball and volleyball teams. She was a dancer on the drill team and also participated in the JROTC program. She graduated in May of 2008 from Crow Creek High School and three months later was united in marriage to Jami Johnson, Sr. and to this union three beautiful children were born Justice, Jami Jr. "Boo-Boo", and Jamissin. A beautiful son Oscar was born to Montanna and Jason Sazue, Sr.
Montanna liked playing softball and boxing. Montanna was a very beautiful, loving, big hearted, caring person and a wonderful mother. She respected everyone she met up with. Always had a big beautiful smile. She was a strong young woman with a big heart and never gave up. She will be missed and words cannot explain how much.
Gratefully sharing her life are her four children Justice, Jami Jr., Jamissin, and Oscar; her mother Rosie Drapeau; father Elroy Walking Bull; six brothers Joe and Eric Sazue, Jami Walking Bull, Walter Ross, Gino Ross, and Jarvis Skunk; two sisters Jesilyn Sazue and Ashley Ross; two sisters-in-law Brenda and Jessica Sazue; 13 nephews; five nieces; and many uncles, aunties, cousins, and friends.
Preceding her in death were her maternal and paternal grandparents.
