Graveside services for Mildred D. Hamiel, 76, of Reliance, SD will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2022 at the Reliance Cemetery at Reliance, SD.

In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.

Mildred D. Hamiel of Reliance, SD passed away at home on July 18, 2022.

Mildred was born December 12, 1945 at the Mitchell Hospital in Mitchell, SD to Raymond and Martha (Drafahl) Priebe.  She attended school in the Chamberlain area and graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1964.

On December 11, 1964, Mildred was united in marriage to Kent Hamiel. To this union two sons were born Zane in 1973 and Bo in 1978.

She loved to garden and would can about everything she raised. What she didn't can, she gave away.  Most years she started digging up her potatoes by July 4 ^th .  She drove the tractors, combines, and trucks, and whatever needed done on the farm she would do.  During the summer she was the one to check on the grain fields and the cattle.  She also organized family reunions for both sides of the family.

She is survived by her husband Kent, two sons Zane (Beth) Hamiel and Bo (Erin) Hamiel, grandchildren Izaac, Ellika, Orin, Carter, and Kason, two step grandchildren Harley and Allayna, and a sister JoAnn Giedd.

Preceding her in death were her parents Raymond and Martha.
