Funeral services for Michael A. Wells, 51, of Chamberlain will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the Fort Thompson Community Center in Fort Thompson with burial in the St. Johns Episcopal Cemetery at Crow Creek, SD.  Wake services will be Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at 7:00 pm at the Fort Thompson Community Center in Fort Thompson, SD.

Michael Allen Wells born January 13, 1968 in Wagner, SD, son of Orson Heck and Elsie Sitting Crow, was adopted by his aunt and uncle Lavina and Lester Wells.  Being raised on the Crow Creek Sioux Reservation, he attended school in Fort Thompson and graduated from Crow Creek High School.  In 1985, he attended Job Corps in Nemo, SD where he was trained to be a mechanic.

He married Tamara McGlaughlin.

Michael was a humble man who loved his family and loved to fish.  His favorite place was fishing with his family.

Michael passed away on October 8, 2019 at Chamberlain, SD at the age of 51 years.  Gratefully sharing his life are his spouse Daphne Cottier; two sons Allen Wells and Mato Wells; two daughters Michaela Wells and Avianna Cottier; brothers Perry Sitting Crow, David Patterson, Lester Wells Jr., Eric Gravatte, Chris Felicia, Cary Ross, Brent Wells, Adrian Wells; sisters Lucy Price, Delilah Patterson, Joy White Mouse, Mona Grass Rope; grandchildren Deleno Wells, Allen Wells Jr.; aunts Arlene Thompson, Linda Squirrelcoat, and Barbara Stricker.

Preceding him in death were his birth parents, his adopted parents, his sisters Patricia Patterson and Celesta Patterson, brother Harry Head, aunt Hermaline Wounded Knee, and his uncle Leon.
