Funeral services for Michael J. Anderson, 64, of Chamberlain will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the Reliance United Methodist Church in Reliance, SD with burial in the Reliance Cemetery at Reliance, SD.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Hickey Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain.

Michael John Anderson was born July 13, 1956 at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, South Dakota to Frederick Anderson and Carol (Fletcher) Anderson.

He served honorably in the United States Air Force specializing in computer operation and data entry.  He graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in English and theater lighting.   He owned and operated, Invincible Costume, a theatrical supply and costume shop in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. He was heavily involved in the theatrical and arts community there.   At the time of his death he was pouring his energy into his clients at Dakota Milestones group home in Chamberlain, South Dakota helping people with special needs. Anyone who knew Michael knows that his hobbies were far too numerous to mention. But suffice it to say he was a creator.   He devoted his life to serving his fellow man, friend or stranger.  He spent his time and energy here on earth pouring his talents into things of eternal significance. This earthly world lost its favorite uncle, brother, cousin, friend.

Michael went to Heaven November 8, 2020 at his home in Chamberlain due to complications of COVID-19. He is survived by his father Frederick Anderson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, his brother Gregory of Engelhard, North Carolina, his brother Jeffrey of Harrisburg, South Dakota and sister Karyne Danaus of Noblesville, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his mother L Carol Anderson, brother David and sister Tracy.
