Mary Rose Walking Bull

December 07,1980 - December 15, 2025

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2025 at the Fort Thompson Community Center in Fort Thompson with burial in the Christ Episcopal Cemetery at Fort Thomson, SD. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Fort Thompson Community Center in Fort Thompson, SD.

Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave from funeral home on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.

Mary Rose Walking Bull was born on December 07, 1980 to Deborah (Comes Flying) Walking Bull and Arnold Walking Bull Sr. in Chamberlain, South Dakota. She passed away peacefully in her home in Chamberlain, South Dakota on December 15, 2025.

Mary lived her entire life in Fort Thompson where she was raised and deeply rooted in her community. Fort Thompson was more than just her hometown it was home. The place that shaped who she was, and where her heart always remained.

Mary Rose went to Crow Creek Tribal Schools through her elementary years and then went to Crow Creek High School until her senior year. She later went on to obtain her GED.

Mary also worked for most of her life and throughout various jobs for the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe and the Lode Star Casino.

On March 13, 2006 Mary married Quincey Jones, and to this union their beloved daughter Deborah "DD" Jones was born. The light of Mary's life and her greatest joy. Mary's love for her daughter will always be unconditional and it showed in everything she did.

She was known for her quick wit and playful sense of humor. She was always joking around, bringing laughter to those around her. Those who knew her will always remember her warm smile, and her favorite phrase "All Bizz". She also had her love for music especially listening to Too Short, which reflected her bold and out-going personality. Mary carried herself with humility and a gentle heart. Despite the hardships she was faced with in life she always continued to show strength, and perseverance. Always holding on tight to what mattered most.

Mary Rose will be remembered for her strength, and quiet grace, her unforgettable personality, and her powerful special bond she had with her daughter. Her memory will live on through the love she gave to all those who knew her, and the lives she touched. And the words that will forever echo "All Bizs".

Mary Rose is survived by her daughter who she loved with all her heart Deborah DD Jones of Chamberlain, SD her brother Farlan Comes Flying of Fort Thompson, SD. A sister Chasity Walking Bull of Omaha, ME. and too many aunts and uncles to mentioned.

Proceeding in death are her Paternal grandparents Oscar His Law and Mary Rose Walking Bull, Maternal grandparents Jozy and Delores (Ross) Comes Flying, parents Arnold Walking Bull Sr. and Deborah (Comes Flying) Walking Bull, her brothers Arnold Walking Bull Jr. and Dustin Walking Bull, sister Arnelle "Nellie" Walking Bull, uncles Mike Touche Sr., Travis Comes Flying, Fabian Comes Flying, a special grandmother Ruth Walking Bull, and too many relatives to mention.
