Funeral services for Marlys L. Hoffer-Harris, 81, of Chamberlain, SD will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Hickey Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain, SD.  Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hickey Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain.

Marlys Lee Hoffer-Harris passed away on November 11, 2024 at the Aurora Brule Nursing Home in White Lake, SD at the age of 81 years.  Marlys was born August 13, 1943 at Chamberlain, SD to Leo and Alberta (Melchert) Hoffer.  She grew up near Lyman where she attended grade school.  She spent many years working various jobs including on local dairy farms and also at the Reliance Café.

Marlys enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing cards with her family.

Survivors include two sons Deo (Lisa) Hoffer of Lyman, Mike (Becky) Harris of Iroquois, SD; two brothers Cliff Melchert of Gillette, WY and Dennis (Nancy) Hoffer of Lyman; six grandchildren Jacob and Rachel Hoffer, Deion, Chenoa, Gunnar, and Skyla Harris; four nephews

Preceding her in death were her parents Leo and Alberta Hoffer and her sister in law Betty Jo Melchert.
