Funeral services for Mariah F. Edwards, 29, of Lower Brule, SD will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2023 at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD with burial in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Lower Brule. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD.

Mariah Faelee Edwards was born on November 4, 1993 to William H. Edwards and Anita A Driving Hawk in Mitchell, SD.

Mariah attended St. Joseph's Indian School for elementary, then attended Lower Brule High School where she participated in basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, JROTC. Mariah played sports at random but was naturally talented.

After graduating high school in 2012, Mariah worked at the Golden Buffalo Casino as a housekeeper, waitress and many other jobs.

Mariah became a mother in 2014 to Mabeleine MaRayne, 2015 to MaRayah MaLeigh, 2017 to Treyton Marquel, and in 2018 to Mariana MaLaunie. Mariah loved making the most out of the time she had with her children, taking them for walks, swimming and to the parks.

Mariah enjoyed baking and cooking, our favorite hush puppy maker! She was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Mariah was our country  music loving girl, with a perfect smile that brightened every room she walked in. She had a family who loved and adored her, but her free spirit never let her settle. The epitome of young, wild and free.

Mariah passed away on January 29, 2023. Gratefully sharing her life are her four children Mabeleine, MaRayah, Treyton and Mariana; her mother Anita(David) Flute; her brothers Leonard Edwards and Neil Whitney; her sisters Janessa Driving Hawk, Angelica "Babe" Edwards and Hunka Sister Seneca Skunk; nephews Zenneth, Zaylen, Zayden, Zylias, Landon, Benson, Nate, Jonah and Teton; nieces Neleigh, Kourtney, Nessiah, Lael, Sage and Tayshia, and many other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was her father William H. Edwards, brother William "Wil" Edwards, paternal grandparents Harold and Pearl Edwards, maternal grandfather Leonard Driving Hawk, great grandparents Ben and Mabel Driving Hawk and close friends Misty Scothern and Leana Medicine Crow.
