Mable Ann (Grey Cloud) Horned Eagle, was born July 27, 1966 to Willard Grey Cloud and Bernadine (White Mouse) Gingway. Mable passed away on July 14, 2023, at the age of 56.

She attended grade school at St. Joseph's Indian School. For a time, she worked for both the Summer Food Program and at the Lode Star Casino. She served as a loving foster parent for many years of her life and cared for children too numerous to mention.

In 1996 she met Matthew Horned Eagle Sr. and they were married January 28th, 2000. Together they lovingly raised a daughter, Jichelle, from the time she was an infant.

Throughout the years, she was able to open her home to her nephews, whom she raised as her own; Joel Bishop, Roger Bishop II, Corey Bishop Jr., Joseph Packard, and Jeremiah Grey Cloud. Later on, she cared for her granddaughters, Amirya and Passion Bishop.

Mable was known for her famous fry bread, pop overs, Indian dogs, and other delicious meals. She was always cooking up for her family and friends. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino.

She was a very loving auntie to everyone and was always ready to give a helping hand to anyone in need.

She is survived by her husband Matthew Horned Eagle, and daughter Jichelle Packard, siblings; Fred (Joy) Grey Cloud, Rory (Annie) Bishop, Lori Bishop, and Jolene Bishop, a Hunka sister; Melody His Law, nephews; Joel Bishop, Roger Bishop II, Corey Bishop Jr, Joseph Packard, Jeremiah Grey Cloud and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her two precious angel babies, Simone Lorenda and Mallory Rose, her parents Bernadine Gingway and Willard Grey Cloud, brother Corey Bishop Sr., and maternal grandmother Magdaline (Jiggs) White Mouse.

Special thanks to her Sanford Dialysis team in Chamberlain, SD, where she received dialysis care for 17 years. Thanks, also, to the numerous Fort Thompson IHS drivers who transported Mable over the years and especially her most recent driver, Aaron Tom.
