Lowell Earl Myers was born September 12, 1932 to Iden and Gladys (Talich) Myers at the family farm in Pukwana (Cleveland Township). Lowell went to school at Pukwana and played High school basketball and graduated from Pukwana High School in 1950.

Following graduation, in 1953, Lowell was united in marriage to Wilda Clutter. Lowell and Wilda celebrated 70 great years together as of July 2023.

Lowell was in the service and part of the US Army from 1955 until 1957. After his time in the service, Lowell and Wilda bought their farm North of Pukwana in the late 1950's and this is where they called home and raised 6 wonderful children on the family farm.

Lowell had a strong love for collecting things, all kinds of things. Lowell was notorious for having at least two of everything that he acquired. Another of Lowell's passions included raising Appaloosa horses, which was a family business along with his brothers.

Lowell was a strong member of the Pukwana Community and was part of the Township Board. Lowell took great pride in the town of Pukwana. Lowell was the responsible party for acquiring the signage for the old Pukwana School that is located at the site of the original school.

Lowell was an avid fan of car racing and the Pukwana Lawn Mower Races, always enjoying watching his children and grandchildren race.

Lowell worked on the farm until his son took over, and from then on Lowell enjoyed collecting things and being with his wife, kids and grandchildren.

Even though Lowell often appeared grumpy, and would often yell at his beloved ones, he had a heart of gold, and we all knew when he yelled "what the hell do you want" he meant it with every ounce of love.

Lowell passed away on August 9, 2023 at Chamberlain, SD at the age of 90 years old. Lowell is survived by his wife of 70 years, Wilda, his 6 children Sherry (John) Hagerty of White Lake, SD, Sonya (Wayne) Christiansen of Norfolk, NE, Sally (Richard) Michalek of Kent, WA, Russell (Kitti) Myers of Yankton, SD, Robbie Myers of Pukwana, SD and Penny (Rick) Hopkins of Pukwana, SD, along with 15 of the grandest grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister Alta (Bob) Ramey of Pukwana and sister-in-law Herbie Myers of Winner.

Proceeding him in death is his mother Gladys Myers, father Iden Myers, stepmother Winnie Myers, Brothers Buddy (Jo) Myers and Wayne (Darlene) Myers, sister Evelyn (Raymond) Sharping, daughter in law Jackie Myers and grandson Derek Hopkins.
