Loren John Brearley was born February 5, 1965 to Lloyd and Adeline (Hantke) Brearley at Chamberlain, SD. Loren was raised with his two siblings Richard and Barbara in the Kimball area where he attended school, graduating from Kimball High School in 1983. After high school, he attended Mitchell Technical Institute and received his Associate Degree in Agriculture.
Loren returned to Kimball where he worked at the grocery store in Kimball for many years and most recently he was employed at Buche's in Oacoma in the produce department. In his younger years, he worked part-time at Morry's Lanes Bowling Alley fixing the machines and sometimes bartending.
While in high school, he was an excellent wrestler attending the State Wrestling Tourament many times. He also loved to throw darts and had attended the State Dart Tournament. He enjoyed bowling and watching TV especially wrestling.
He was a long time member of the Kimball Volunteer Fire Department and at one time served as the Fire Chief.
Loren passed away on October 24, 2023 at Kimball, SD at the age of 58 years. Gratefully sharing his life are his sister Barbara Crandell and husband Michael of Sioux Falls, SD; two step brothers Gary and David Gossel both of Kimball, SD; and two nieces Kristin Moran and Kathy Metzinger, two nephews Patrick and Matthew Crandell, an aunt, Delores Stoll, an uncle, Roger Hantke, numerous great nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
Preceding him in death were his father Lloyd, his mother Adeline, stepfather Herbert Gossel, and brother Richard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Loren's name to the National Kidney Foundation or the Kimball Volunteer Fire Department, Kimball, SD.
