Funeral services for Loren W. Bode, 72, of Pukwana, SD will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chamberlain with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chamberlain, SD.
Loren Bode, 72, of Pukwana, SD passed away on June 26, 2024 at his home doing what he loved.
Loren Walter Bode was born November 15, 1951 to Walter and Lois (Thompson) Bode in Chamberlain, SD. Loren attended grade school at Pretzer Country School. He attended Chamberlain High School where he graduated with the Class of 1970. After graduation, Loren attended technical school in Springfield, SD for one year.
On February 16, 1980, Loren was united in marriage to Julie Boeker at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stickney, SD. Loren and Julie were blessed with two children, Jeffrey and Sarah by the gift of adoption.
Loren farmed his whole life, he always said farming was his hobby. He loved being outdoors. If you couldn't find him in the house, you would find him out by his cows, or in the shop, or working on something that needed done in the field.
Loren was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Chamberlain, SD. He served on the Ola Township Board for many years.
He was a loving and kind husband, father, and grandfather. Gratefully sharing his life are his wife of 44 years Julie, children Jeffrey (Jenna) and Sarah (Trevor), and grandchildren Stetsen, Taytem, Ember, and Jaxten. He is also survived by his siblings Gloria (Ken) Anderson, Lyle (Brenda) Bode, Steven Bode, Jeanette (Bill) Gibbons, and Carl (Nancy) Bode, and sister-in-law Jan DeWaard.
Preceding him in death are his parents Walter and Lois Bode, his father and mother-in-law Herb and Elaine Boeker, and sister-in-law Christine "Chris" Bode.
