Obituary

Memorial services for Lois B. Dominiack, 98, of Mitchell, SD formerly of Chamberlain will be 10:30 am Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the United Church of Christ in Chamberlain. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services.

Lois and Jim will be interred together in the Riverview Cemetery in Chamberlain.

Lois Betty Dominiack, 98, passed away July 3, 2019, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, SD.

Lois Betty was born June 28, 1921, at Chamberlain, SD, to Henry and Jessie (Shrake) Steckelberg.  She grew up on their family farm in West Point Township, graduated from Harrison Country School where she cheered on her favorite baseball team, the West Point Coyotes, and attended Chamberlain High School.  She married James Dominiack on October 6, 1941.  Lois and Jim farmed most of their lives in Brule County.  They both loved bowling, square-dancing, and traveling the USA.

Lois was a member of The United Church of Christ.  She enjoyed embroidery, quilting, word search puzzles and watching baseball.   Her quick wit, sense of humor, and incredible eye for calling "balls" and "strikes" during baseball games will be fondly remembered.

Lois is survived by her three daughters, Karen Lunn, Mitchell, SD;  Mary (Leon) Bravek, Gillette, WY;  and Joyce Coffin, Siloam Springs, AR;  one sister, Nona Moore, Sioux Falls, SD, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Jim;  her parents, Henry and Jessie;  five brothers, Ivan, Lyle (infant), Jack, Dale, Lynn;  and one sister, Mary Jira.
