Memorial services for Lindy D. Cosgrove, 72, of Reliance, SD will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Water of Life Assembly of God Church in Chamberlain.  A private family burial will take place.

Lindy D. Cosgrove, 72, of Chamberlain passed away on May 3, 2018 at the Sanford Medical Center in Chamberlain.

Lindy D. Cosgrove was born April 24, 1946 at Chamberlain to Royal Cosgrove and Naomi (Ocheltree) Cosgrove.  He attended Cooper Country School and graduated in 1964 from Reliance High School.  Following high school, Lindy attended S.D.S.U. where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Husbandry.  During college he was in the ROTC Program and later the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Hood, TX.  While serving in Texas, Lindy met his future wife Carolyn Sanderford.  They were united in marriage on May 31, 1970 in Killeen, TX.  They returned to the Reliance, SD area where they farmed and ranched.  In later years, Lindy began organic farming.

In addition to farming and agriculture, Lindy served as an extension agent, Tribal Water quality manager, and as a youth counselor.

He loved sharing his faith with others and attended the Assembly of God Church.  The foundation of his life was the love of his Lord, his family, and especially his wife Carolyn, who not only did he traverse his life with but the continental United States twice on bicycle.

Lindy is survived by his wife Carolyn Cosgrove; seven children Joel (Marie) Cosgrove, Odis Cosgrove, Luke Cosgrove, Aaron (Jenny) Cosgrove, Rose Anna (Eric) McClung, Cody Cosgrove, and Cameron Cosgrove; seven grandchildren Meya, D.J., Lindy, Ava, Michael, Elliot, Nora; a brother John Cosgrove; and three sisters Ruth Ann McManus, Marlys (Garry) Swanson, and June Griffith.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister Corrine Wagaman.
