Leroy Lewis McGhee, 84, of Ft. Thompson, SD passed away on April 6th, 2021 at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD.

Leroy was born on June 18th, 1936 to Frank Sr. and Mercy (McBride) McGhee in Crow Creek, SD. Leroy grew up in Crow Creek, SD and attended school at Ft Thompson up until 10th grade. After leaving school, Leroy obtained a certificate for Electrician and Furnace repair. He worked at various entities including the Crow Creek Housing. Leroy started a family with Detta Hopkins, to this union three children were born, Pam, Donnie, and Jodi. He later married Doris (Tiger) McGhee.

For many years, Leroy shared a home with his sister, Helen, in Ft Thompson. Prior to his deteriorating health, Leroy enjoyed chauffeuring Helen to many appointments and outings. He also enjoyed cruising around Ft Thompson. He and Helen both enjoyed their time at the Lode Star Casino prior to the pandemic.

Leroy is survived by his daughter Pam, sister Helen (McGhee) Fuerst, brothers Frank "Buzzy" McGhee Jr. and Richard Ross, grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and relatives. He is also survived by Jamie McGhee and Leilani McGhee.

Leroy was preceded in death by his son Lil' Donnie McGhee, his daughter Jodi McGhee, his late wife Doris (Tiger) McGhee, his parents Frank Sr. and Mercy (McBride) McGhee, sisters Hilda (McGhee) Longcrow, Ethel (McGhee) Miller, Della (McGhee) Lytle, Hazel (McGhee) Olson, and brothers Vern McGhee Sr., Arnold McGhee, and Robert "Bumpy" McGhee.

There will be a celebration of his life and burial on his 85th birthday, June 18, 2021 @ 1:00 p.m. Please join us at St John's cemetery, Crow Creek SD for graveside services.
