Funeral services for LeRoy Thomas Ross Jr., age 61, of Fort Thompson, will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Diamond Willow Ministries in Fort Thompson, SD. Burial will follow at the Christ Episcopal Cemetery in Fort Thompson, SD. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 and Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Diamond Willow Ministries in Fort Thompson, SD.

LeRoy (Sonny) Ross Jr. was born to LeRoy Ross Sr. and Elizabeth his Law on August 15, 1959 in Chamberlain, SD.

Sonny graduated eighth grade at Fort Thompson grade school. He then graduated high school at Sky Ranch in Rapid City, SD. It was at the Sky Ranch where he loved to ride horses and was a student pilot.

Sonny loved to tease and joke with others, he had a great sense of humor. He always had a nick name for ones he met. His favorite past time was breaking horses. Sonny worked various jobs. He began going to school in Stephen and PILC in Pierre, where he graduated. After finishing school, he began roofing with Guaranteed Roofing of Sioux Falls, SD.

He also started conceiving his children with special friend, Char Charette, they had two sons LeRoy Ross III and Royden Lee, then had two sons Thomas Lee with Rose Hanes and had five kids, Somidawn, Tyrell, Harvey, Silas, and Royden with Sarah Stewart.

Sonny joins his mother Elizabeth His Law and father LeRoy Ross Sr., his brothers Marlow Medicine Crow Sr. and Richard His Law, sisters Marvene Medicine Crow and Myrtle Ann Medicine Crow, and his son Royden Lee Ross in the spirit world.

He leaves behind his brother Marvin Medicine Crow and his sisters LaDonna Ross, Brenda Sue Ross, and Diane Ross, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandchildren.
