Laura Jean Big Eagle, 66, passed away on February 15, 2021.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Diamond Willow Ministries, Fort Thompson with burial in the Christ Episcopal Cemetery at Fort Thompson. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021 and 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2021 at Diamond Willow Ministries, Fort Thompson.
Laura Jean Big Eagle was born on April 19, 1954 to Josephine (Bad Moccasin) and Bert McBride in Chamberlain, South Dakota.
Laura loved the color purple. She also loved her Mean Green. She enjoyed going to Bingo and to the casino. She liked playing dice, cards, working on crosswords and cooking. Laura was a cowgirl! She spent most of her time with special friend Rose Drapeau and special niece Jess Horn.
Laura worked as an EMT for the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe Ambulance for over 20 years.
Laura loved all her family, her sister Lottie, Nieces and Nephews and her grandkids, especially Jrue and Telyus.
Laura is survived by her brother Reynold Pratt (St. Paul, MN), sisters Lottie (Mark) Miller (Anaheim, CA), Kathy Hackett (Sturgis, SD), Emily McBride and Mary Strong ( Bemidji, MN), a very special friend Rick Thompson (Fort Thompson), nephews and nieces Gideon Saul, Quincee Kirkie-Gonzales (Fort Thompson), Burton Saul (Aberdeen, SD), Contessa Saul (Green Bay, WI), Dina Postoak, Kathryn Pratt, Michael Pratt, Timothy Pratt, and Jamie Pratt, grandchildren Devon Saul, Brianne Saul and Tee Saul (all of Fort Thompson), great grandchildren Jahvel Saul, Cecil Saul, Jrue Saul Kais'lee Saul, and Kassiah Saul (all of Fort Thompson, and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents Bert and Josephine, brothers Wade Aikins, Gilbert McBride, Patrick Pratt and Duane Pratt, sister Cheryl Saul, and great grandson Brevin Saul.
