Lashonda LaRain Rencountre was born December 7, 2002 in Pierre, SD to Stephanie Rencountre and Ivan Roundhead.  Lashonda loved to draw and color from a very young age and what led her to be a self-taught artist.  She attended Crow Creek Tribal Schools from elementary through high school and she had two special best friends through her middle and high school years: Mariah Wounded Knee and Carolina Fallis.  Lashonda recently received her High School Diploma on Saturday, May 21, 2022 with the help of her loving and dedicated parents by her side every step of the way, never left alone.  She like drawing, anime, video games, hanging out with her brother, being on social media interacting with her friends and listening to music.  Her favorite band was "Twenty-one Pilots".

Lashonda's dreams were to travel, go to Art School and see the world.

Lashonda was a unique gift from God.  She is our Angel and our Light.  She was loved by many and touched everyone's path she crossed.

Lashonda LaRain passed away with her loving, dedicated parents at her side on September 9, 2022 at Sanford Children's Castle in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 19 years.  Lashonda leaves behind her parents Stephanie Rencountre and Ivan Roundhead of Fort Thompson, SD; her brother Tyreke and baby sister Ve'ya Rencountre both of Fort Thompson, SD; grandparents Romona Hawkins and Gayle Rencountre both of Fort Thompson, SD; her uncles Joseph (Carole) Rencountre of Fort Thompson, SD, and Anthony Rencountre of Sioux Falls, SD; and special aunts Margaret Hopkins, Vina Williams, Jesslyn Naser, and Karil Harmon; along with numerous Grandpa's, Grandma's, aunts, uncles, and cousins too many to mention.

Preceding her in death were her paternal great grandpa Oliver Roundhead, grandma Vera "V" Roundhead, and grandma Verna Roundhead; maternal great grandpa joseph B. Hawkins, great grandma Delores Hawkins, uncle Ben Hawkins, great aunt Louise Hall, great grandpa Doug Rencountre Sr., and great grandma Geraldine Christenson-Rencountre.

She will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege to know her.
