Funeral services for Larry E. Hosek, 70, of Chamberlain, SD will be 10:00 am Monday, August 30, 2021 at St. James Catholic Church in Chamberlain with burial in the Union Cemetery at Bijou Hills, SD.  Visitation will begin Sunday at 5:00 pm in St. James Community Center and a scripture service at 7:00 pm in the church.

Larry E. Hosek was born September 29, 1950 to James and Betty (Gau) Hosek.  Larry attended country school in Academy, SD and after the eighth grade attended high school in Platte, SD where he graduated from Platte High School.

In 1969, Larry enlisted in the U.S. Army serving until 1972.  In 1973, Larry met the love of his life Betty Ann Life.  They were united in marriage on August 31, 1974 at Loomis, SD.  Larry was employed at Mitchell Concrete and in 1975 they moved to Platte where Larry became a police officer.  In 1985, Larry and Betty Ann moved to Chamberlain where he worked at United Auto Parts. In the late 1990's, Sturdevants bought United Auto Parts and Larry became manager which he did until time of his death.

Larry loved to watch the geese and he would often go down to the Marina just to sit and watch them.  Riding in a hot air balloon was on Larry's bucket list and he was able to check that off his list this summer.

Larry was very family oriented and loved spending time with his family especially his daily time with Aadyn, his youngest grandson.

Larry passed away on August 24, 2021 at the age of 70 years.  Gratefully sharing his life are his son Michael and wife Bonnie, three grandchildren Tyler and wife Kyndra, Heather, and Aadyn, and great grandson Lincoln.

Preceding him in death were his wife Betty Ann, his father James, his mother Betty, and his brother Harold.
