Funeral services for Kimberly R. Flute, 36, of Fort Thompson, SD will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 14, 2025 at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD with burial in the Holy Comforter Episcopal Cemetery at Lower Brule, SD. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD.
Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday from the funeral home.
Kimberly Rose Flute was born January 27, 1989 to David H. Flute and Marlita R. Grassrope in Chamberlain, SD. She attended St. Joseph's Indian School and graduated from Chamberlain High school. Kimberly later attended college where she received a degree in business.
Kimberly lived her life enjoying her gifts from God. Her family and friends were her blessings that she cherished the most.
She enjoyed playing sports including basketball, golf, bowling, and more. Her favorite team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. Some of her favorite things to do were fishing, playing cards, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends.
Kimberly was very well liked because of her big spirit, humorous personality and generosity. Her aura was bright and everyone who had the opportunity to be around her could tell that. Kimberly was always there to help and willing to go the extra mile for others. She was caring and kind hearted, with plenty of love and gratitude. Her life is to be celebrated and remembered. She will be dearly missed.
Kimberly passed away on March 10, 2025 at home in Fort Thompson, SD. She leaves behind her parents, a brother, special friend and companion Rose Medicine Crow and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents who she loved and looked up to very much Maxine and Noah Grassrope and Margaret and Harry Flute.
