Funeral services for Keith G. RenCountre, 60, of Lower Brule, SD will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD with burial in the Holy Comforter Episcopal Cemetery at Lower Brule, SD.  Wake services will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD.

Keith Gilbert RenCountre was born May 10, 1961 in Hughes County to Alice Ann RenCountre and Rudolph Dean Kennedy Sr.  Keith graduated from Todd County High School in Mission, SD and attended Lower Brule Community College.

Keith was a talented artist, especially with painting and drawing.  He loved music, reading and life-long learning about his cultural heritage.  He was known in the community as a kind, respectful and joyful man, always ready for a laugh and a smile.

Keith passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 in Lower Brule, SD at the age of 60 years.  Gratefully sharing his life are his daughters Leiani Mei KaudleKanle of Lawton, OK; Alice Ann Newman of Springfield, IL; Kaya RenCountre of Petersburg, IL; a son, Chaske RenCountre of Petersburg, IL; and a grandson Landon Gilber Martinez of Lawton, OK; and a special friend Mary Ellen Newman of Springfield, IL.

Keith's sisters are Carol Lee Thigh of Lower Brule, SD; Bessie Loudner of Lower Brule, SD; Carla Schultz of Buffalo, MO; Debra Beardsley of Detroit, MI; Ann Palmeer of New Jersey; Rochelle Goodface of Rapid City, SD; and Carol Ellen Quilt of Fort Thompson, SD.  His brothers are Monty Guffin of Watertown, SD; Roddy Kennedy of Nebraska; Keith Goodface of Sioux Falls, SD; Emmett Goodface of Lower Brule, SD; a hunka brother, Neil Cody Russell of Lower Brule, SD; and two uncles Robert Kennedy and Clark Zephier both of Lower Brule, SD.

Preceding him in death are his mother, Alice Ann RenCountre; father, Rudy Kennedy, Sr.; his maternal grandparents Sophie (Red Hook) Homely Bear and Homely Bear; his paternal grandparents Mary (Fogg) and Howard Taft Kennedy Sr.; his brothers Cephis Goodface Jr., Rudy Kennedy Jr., Robert Kennedy, Douglas Beardsley, Sheldon Solomon, and Burton Goodface; and his aunts, Pearl Colombe and Aleta McBride.
