Kayleen Haiar, 31, of Watertown, SD, passed away at her home Thursday, February 13, 2025.
Kayleen Marie Haiar was born January 22, 1994 in Mitchell, SD to Gary Haiar, and Shelley (Miller) Gerard. Kayleen grew up in Chamberlain, SD. She began school in Highmore, SD, and when the family moved to Chamberlain, SD, she attended school there until the 7th grade. From there, she attended school at Wheeler Central, in Nebraska and later went to High School in Miller, SD.
Kayleen was an adventurer. She was like her father, always on the move. She was an extremely hard worker, and often worked in the service industry. She was a great waitress and made all her customers feel like family. She has made many friends throughout her life, as she inherited the "gift of gab" from her father. She also loved kids, and babysat since she was a teenager. She loved all things cows and turquoise.
In June 2010, Kayleen gave birth to Peyton Lee Haiar and in August 2017, Abigail Marie Haiar was born. She loved both her girls so much. They were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her mother Shelley (Phil) Gerard, Chamberlain, SD, sister Kimberlee (Cody) Schumacher, Chamberlain, SD, brother Kyle Haiar (Paityn DeBoer) Ree Heights, SD, sister Kayla (Jason) Barnable, Sioux Falls, SD, brother Josh (Casey) Cokens, Estelline, SD, children Peyton Haiar, Chamberlain, SD and Abigail Haiar, Mitchell, SD, Grandparents Loren and Charlotte Geerdes, Chamberlain, SD and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved father Gary Haiar, grandmother Marlys Schuster, and cousin Cory Haiar.
Memorial services will be Saturday, March 22, 2025 , at 10:30am, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Chamberlain, SD.
