Funeral services for Kathleen M. Pomani, 81, of Fort Thompson, SD will be 1:00 pm Friday, May 7, 2021 at Diamond Willow Ministries in Fort Thompson with burial in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery at Stephan, SD.  Wake services will be Wednesday and Thursday evening at 7:00 pm at Diamond Willow Ministries in Fort Thompson.

Kathleen Mae Pomani was born July 29, 1939 at Fort Thompson, SD to Charles Ross and Lavina Chase.

Kathleen passed away on May 1, 2021 at Sanford Medical Center in Chamberlain, SD at the age of 81 years.

Kathleen is survived by two sons: Faron Shoptese and Sonny Shoptese of Kansas; five daughters: Lea Cleveland of Winnebago, NE, Rhea Ross of Sioux Falls, SD, Rayna Ross of Fort Thompson, SD, Glenda Wounded Knee of Fort Thompson, SD, and Codi-Rae Pomani of Fort Thompson, SD; and an adopted daughter Marletta Merritt of Lower Brule, SD; two very special granddaughters who called her mom LeRory Ellen Wounded Knee II and Julia Velma (Wounded Knee) Pease; a brother James Blue Sr.; and many nieces, nephews, grandkids, and great grandkids.

Preceding her in death were her husband Delbert Pomani Sr.; father Charles Ross; mother Verna Chase; three daughters Kathi, LeRory, and Werdna; and a granddaughter Khalila Pickner.
