Funeral services for Justin E. Mirreau, 54, of Fort Thompson, SD will be 1:00 pm Monday, May 24, 2021 at Diamond Willow Ministries in Fort Thompson with burial in St. John's Episcopal Cemetery at Crow Creek, SD. Wake services will be Sunday at 7:00 pm at Diamond Willow Ministries in Fort Thompson.
Justin Elra Mirreau was born November 7, 1966 to Alfred Mireau and Maxine (Walker) Mirreau. He was raised in Fort Thompson, SD along with his brother and sister, Richard and Peggy. He attended elementary school in Fort Thompson and high school at Stephan and later Flandreau Indian School where he graduated high school.
On October 7, 1986, Justin enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was Honorably Discharged on November 30, 1990.
Justin worked for the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe Ambulance Service as an EMT for 10 years.
Justin was a great, kind, loving, and respectful man. Throughout his life he made many many friends. He loved to spend his time with his family and friends. He loved watching football, his favorite team being the Minnesota Vikings, and he especially loved spending time with his partner Willene Johnson.
Justin passed away on May 20, 2021 at Avera St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre, SD at the age of 54 years. Gratefully sharing his life are his niece Nichole Mirreaux; his first cousins Karen Voice, Cheryl Voice, Laramie Voice, Cody Mireau, Sally Ann His Law, Marlene His Law, Marybeth His Law, Donovan Mirraeaux, Crystal Red Hail, special niece Jessica Voice and special nephew Bernard "Buddie" Mirreaux Jr.; and many many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents/grandparents Aaron Mireau and Sarah (Oldman) Mireau, Bernard Mirreau Sr., Audra Voice, Mike Voice Sr., his sister Peggy Mirreaux, and brother Richard Mirreaux, aunts Donna, Irene, Mavis Walker, Isabelle Red Hail, Evelyn His Law, and uncles John and Gilbert (Dixie) Walker.
